1590巴黎人改版后网址 College is seeking an adjunct professor for Organic Chemistry I for the Fall 2022 semester (Aug. 29 - Dec. 16). Please note that if the fall semester is successful, there will be the possibility of being hired for the Spring semester for Organic Chemistry II.

Lecture Schedule: The lecture meets 2 days/ week for 1 hour 20 minutes/ lecture session. Time of the class is negotiable, but preferred for Monday and Thursday 8:30a-9:50a.

Course Description: CHM2001 Organic Chemistry I: This course is a study of the major classes of organic compounds, designed to provide students with the background in organic chemistry needed for advanced study in chemistry and the life sciences. Topics include structure and bonding; polar covalent bonds; acid and base reactions; alkanes; cycloalkanes; stereochemistry; overview of chemical reactions; alkenes: structure and reactivity; alkenes: reactions and synthesis; alkynes: introduction to organic synthesis; organohalides; and nucleophilic substitution and elimination reactions.

Schedule: The course meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00pm to 2:20pm.

Course Description: This course introduces the methods, materials, and theoretical approaches used in the interdisciplinary study of American society and culture. Through close reading of selected texts (novels, films, essays), we will analyze the ideals and myths about America, and the American dream – which form the basis of American consciousness. Writers studied include John Winthrop, Thomas Jefferson, Alexis de Tocqueville, Henry Adams, Margaret Fuller, Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Martin Luther King, Jr. The films of directors such as John Ford, Frank Capra, and Francis Ford Coppola will be examined.

Course Description: MUA-1003 VOICE CLASS INSTRUCTION (1 Credits)

An introduction to the study of voice at the college level in a classroom/workshop setting. Required of Musical Theater majors, the classes may substitute for private music lessons during a student's first year of study.

 

Requirements/Preferences:

Applicants must hold a Master Degree, (terminal degree preferred). Special consideration given to applicants who have a background in Vocal Pedagogy and an interest in Musical Theatre. Call for Adjunct Professor for Introduction to Biology in Fall 2022

Where: 1590巴黎人改版后网址 College in Purchase, NY

When: Fall semester 2022 (Aug. 29th – Dec. 16th)

Lecture Schedule: The lecture meets 2 days./ week for 1 hr 20 minutes/ lecture session.

There are 2 sections of this course, and we will be hiring professors for both sections:

Section 1: Mondays and Thursdays 8:30a-9:50a

Section 2: Mondays and Thursdays 11:30a-12:50p

Who may apply: M.S., ABD, Ph.D., post-docs, or experienced academicians with a background in a related discipline (e.g.- biology)

Format: Lectures will be run fully in person in the fall at 1590巴黎人改版后网址 College. Three office hours are also required per week, and may be completed in person or virtually.

Course Description: BIO1000: Introduction to Biology. The purpose of this course is to introduce students considering majoring in biology to the field of biology. Topics will include a survey of cells, tissues and organ systems, photosynthesis and basic Mendelian and molecular genetics. Evolutionary theory will be discussed as well as basic phylogentic relationships within each Kingdom of Life. This course is intended for biology majors that would either like to reinforce foundational material before starting the introductory sequence courses 'Principles of Biology I' and 'Prinicples of Biology II' or for those that did not pass the placement exam. The course will not count as credit toward the major.

Schedule: The course meets 1 day/ week for 2 hours 40 minutes. Section 1 is scheduled for Thursdays, 1:00-3:40 and Section 2 is scheduled for Fridays, 10:00-12:40.

Format: Course will be run fully in person in the fall at 1590巴黎人改版后网址 College.

Course Description: An introduction to computer graphics using the Macintosh computer, this course will teach students to differentiate between various types of programs (draw, paint, and page layout) and provide hands-on experience in each. Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop, Quark Express, Adobe, and InDesign will be used. Three required hours of lab time per week.

Applicants should hold an MFA in Visual Art or Design. Experienced individuals with a background in Fine Art, Design, or Digital Illustration will be considered.
